Part-time Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a special educational needs school located in Hinckley. This part-time role is set to begin in November 2024 and will continue on a long-term basis, requiring availability on Mondays to Wednesdays from 8:30 to 15:30.

The school caters to children between the ages of 5 to 18 with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs and a strong commitment to supporting students across all areas of the curriculum.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students on a one-to-one basis as well as in small groups. It is essential to be adaptable, compassionate, and patient in providing tailored support to meet the diverse needs of our learners.

The school boasts excellent facilities, including classrooms equipped to suit the specific requirements of each student. Physical exercise is a key focus in our support plans, with opportunities for minigolf, basketball, football, and outdoor gym activities available to all students. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about promoting physical activity and well-being among our students.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
