Learning Support Assistant

Zest Education are recruiting for a highly regarded special educational needs school in Telford who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work across a range of year groups. This role is to start October 2022 on a full-time basis.

The school caters for children from the age of six to thirteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate must have previous experience supporting individuals with SEND or in a similar setting.

This is a popular SEND school which has a strong focus on inclusion and equality and aims to provide all pupils with essential life skills. The school are seeking a Learning Support Assistant who share the same ethos and values.

The successful candidate will be working across a range of age groups supporting the class teacher, however there may be occasions that you are required to work on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with the children. You need to be committed to providing the children with exceptional learning and support, in a fun and caring classroom environment.

The role:

• You must have previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar environment
• You will be required to work with the students individually and in small groups
• You will be working alongside the class teacher, preparing learning resources and maintaining the classroom to a high standard

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
