Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

Classroom Support Assistant.

Zest Education are working closely with a secondary SEND school in Nuneaton who are looking for a Classroom Support Assistant to start October 2022 on a full-time basis and will continue into the new academic year.

The school caters for children from the age of ten to eighteen with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).  The students at this school have often had challenging lives and their range of needs is usually complex. The school are seeking an individual who is confident with their behaviour management and has previous experience working with individuals with SEND or in a similar environment.

The successful candidate must be able to use initiative and work independently, be firm but fair and can quickly build positive relationships with students who have a complex range of special needs. You must have a calm nature, willingness to learn and the ability to be assertive when the situation demands it.

The role:

  • You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
  • You have a bright and resilient personality and a resourceful approach to working with challenging individuals
  • You will be working 1:1 and in small groups with the students, supporting with all areas of the curriculum

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
