Job Description

Zest Education are recruiting exclusively for a classroom assistant at a rapidly improving primary school in the Hollywood area of south Birmingham.

The school is a busy 2 form entry which is overseen by a passionate Head who is continually looking to improve the school. The school benefits from a dedicated team of teachers and staff who are passionate about providing a secure and supportive learning environment whilst maintaining strong behaviour management across all key stages.

The successful TA must:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or above) in a relevant childcare subject
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Be able to support the SEND of individual children
  • Have a positive work ethic
  • Be adaptable to work in small groups and support core subjects
  • Manage behaviour independently.

  • Liaising effectively with class teachers/phase leaders

If you have previous experience working with phonics and ‘Read Write inc’ then this would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
