Full-time Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is proud to be working with a very well reputable SEND school in the Walsall area. This school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to start in October 2022 on a full-time basis for the remainder of the academic year.

The school caters for children from the age of seven to eighteen with school with moderate learning difficulties, however majority of our pupils have additional needs, including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and some behavioural issues. The successful candidate must have experience supporting individuals with SEND or in a care environment.

All students are taught in small classes throughout this school, the majority of which have teaching assistants, in addition to the teacher. The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

• This school follows the Team Teach behaviour management system so knowledge of this would be advantageous.
• You will be required to work with the children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• You are passionate to build trusting relationships with the children to help them manage the learning challenges they may face

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
