Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Resource Base (SEND Support)
Kings Heath | Start: October 2025 | Contract: Until July 2026
Zest Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in the Kings Heath area, who are looking for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their resource base provision from October 2025. This is a full-time role running until the end of the academic year in July 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by working with small groups of children with additional and complex needs, providing both academic and emotional support within a specialist setting.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant within the school’s resource base, you will:
Support small groups of pupils with SEND, including Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome, and other additional needs
Help deliver tailored interventions and learning support in line with pupils’ EHCPs
Provide personal care where required
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure each child’s needs are fully met
Maintain a calm, nurturing and positive learning environment, even in stressful or challenging situations

Has previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly within a resource base or similar setting
Understands the complex and varied needs of children with autism, learning difficulties, and associated conditions
Is resilient, patient, and committed to making a lasting impact
Is confident carrying out personal care duties and supporting children with dignity and compassion
Can remain calm, solution-focused, and positive in high-pressure situations

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
