Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Resource Base (SEND Support)

Kings Heath | Start: October 2025 | Contract: Until July 2026

Zest Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in the Kings Heath area, who are looking for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their resource base provision from October 2025. This is a full-time role running until the end of the academic year in July 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by working with small groups of children with additional and complex needs, providing both academic and emotional support within a specialist setting.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant within the school’s resource base, you will:

  • Support small groups of pupils with SEND, including Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome, and other additional needs

  • Help deliver tailored interventions and learning support in line with pupils’ EHCPs

  • Provide personal care where required

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure each child’s needs are fully met

  • Maintain a calm, nurturing and positive learning environment, even in stressful or challenging situations

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly within a resource base or similar setting

  • Understands the complex and varied needs of children with autism, learning difficulties, and associated conditions

  • Is resilient, patient, and committed to making a lasting impact

  • Is confident carrying out personal care duties and supporting children with dignity and compassion

  • Can remain calm, solution-focused, and positive in high-pressure situations
