Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Year 4 (Solihull)

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting a Full-Time Teaching Assistant for a busy and thriving school in Solihull. This exciting opportunity will involve providing 1-1 support for a child with additional needs in a Year 4 class, specifically focusing on supporting a child with global delay and ADHD. The role is perfect for a teaching assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 support to a child with global delay and ADHD, ensuring they are able to fully engage with the curriculum and classroom activities

  • Work closely with the class teacher to adapt and differentiate resources to meet the child’s individual learning needs

  • Support the child’s social and emotional development, helping to foster positive behaviour, increase confidence, and build self-esteem

  • Assist in monitoring the child’s progress and help implement personalised strategies in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

  • Create a supportive and inclusive environment within the classroom, promoting interaction and participation with peers

The Ideal Candidate:

  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential

  • A solid understanding of working with children with global delay and ADHD, including knowledge of appropriate strategies and interventions

  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable with a genuine passion for supporting children’s development

  • Strong communication skills, able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents

  • Experience in working within a busy, fast-paced school environment is an advantage

  • Proactive and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
