1:1 Teaching Assistant

Zest Education are recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in a brilliant SEND school located in Telford. This is a full-time position which is due to begin October 2025 and will continue for the full academic year.  You must be able to work the hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.

This school caters for children from the age of five to sixteen with Autism (ASC). You will be working 1:1 with a six-year-old child, supporting with their day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs and is confident with their behaviour management.

The role will be ideal for a passionate and creative individual who can work well as part of a team and support both colleagues and students effectively. The successful candidate will need to be reliable and pro-active whilst having a calm and approachable manner.

The role:

  • You must be able to communicate effectively as an individual, and a team, and ensure children are cared and supported at all times
  • You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
  • You will be working in small class sizes, with a maximum of nine students in each class

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
