Job Description

Here at Zest Education, we are looking for a learning support assistant with a passion for education for a school in Birmingham! This learning environment caters for children aged 11-19 with severe and profound complex learning difficulties. This school has state of the art facilities and offers educational accommodation which is known for being amazing by students, parents, and carers. The picturesque scenery and large grounds round the school ensure that students can access their learning outside which has proven to be successful with students. The school also has the use of a dedicated ‘Bedsit’ within the local community where students learn ‘independent living skills’ within a realistic setting.

The ideal candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday 8:30AM – 15:30PM supporting alongside the teacher and other learning support assistants. Due to the needs this school caters for, the ideal candidate will require previous experience within PMLD and autism and be flexible across all age groups.

The role:

–              We are looking for someone with previous special educational needs experience

–              You will need to be confident with working with student with PLMD and autism.

–              Due to this school catering for a variety of ages, you will need to be adaptable

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
