We are seeking a committed and proactive teaching assistant to join our specialist team in a well-established special educational needs school in Smethwick, Birmingham. This full-time role begins in September 2025 and offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of pupils with a wide range of learning needs.
The successful teaching assistant will provide classroom-based and individual support for students with complex needs, including learning difficulties, communication challenges, and social, emotional or behavioural needs. You will be working closely with class teachers and external professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and tailored support throughout the school day.
We are looking for a teaching assistant who brings enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine interest in supporting children who learn differently. You should be able to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing needs, and build positive relationships with both pupils and staff.
This role suits someone who values inclusion and understands the importance of creating a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment for all learners. As a teaching assistant, you will also contribute to preparing learning resources, monitoring progress, and supporting the emotional well-being of pupils.
