Teaching Assistant

Job Description

An established special educational needs school in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham is looking to appoint a full-time teaching assistant to join the team from September 2025. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and eager to support pupils with additional learning needs in a structured and engaging environment.

As a teaching assistant, you will work directly with pupils who may have autism, moderate learning difficulties, communication needs, or behavioural challenges. Your role will include supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom, preparing resources, and assisting in the delivery of personalised interventions.

We are seeking a teaching assistant who is adaptable, reliable, and confident in working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You should be able to follow guidance while also using your initiative to respond to the needs of the pupils. A calm and respectful approach is essential.

The successful teaching assistant will be someone who understands the importance of consistency, positive reinforcement, and building trust with young learners. While experience in an SEN setting is helpful, we welcome applicants with a strong interest in the field and a willingness to learn.

Joining this school as a teaching assistant offers a fulfilling and varied role, where your contribution will be valued and your development supported.
