Teaching Assistant

Job Description

A specialist school in Stockland Green, Birmingham is seeking a full-time teaching assistant to join their dedicated team from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting pupils with special educational needs in a positive and inclusive setting.

The successful teaching assistant will work alongside teaching staff to provide practical support to pupils with a variety of learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. This may include assisting with lesson delivery, helping pupils engage with their learning, and contributing to their overall development and well-being.

We are looking for a teaching assistant who is reliable, empathetic, and confident in building relationships with young people. You should be able to support the implementation of individual learning plans, contribute to a calm and supportive classroom environment, and respond effectively to the varying needs of pupils.

This role would suit a teaching assistant with a flexible approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain composed and patient throughout the school day. Prior experience in an SEN environment is welcomed but not essential if you bring a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.

Becoming a teaching assistant in our school means playing a key part in a collaborative team that values each child’s progress and celebrates every success, no matter how small.
