Teaching Assistant – Stafford

Zest Education are recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a brilliant SEND school located in Stafford. This position is due to begin November 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year.

This school caters for students from to age of five to eighteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with individuals with SEND. You will be supporting an eight-year-old student on a 1:1 basis, supporting with their day-to-day activities inside and outside of the classroom. The successful candidate must have great communication skills, understanding of Makaton and PECS is desirable but not essential.

The role:

• You have experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar environment
• Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your calm approach
• Although you will be working 1:1 with a student, on some occasions you may be required to work with other students in small groups, so it is important that you are adaptable to work and support children of a variety of ages and learning difficulties
