Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Reception – ASD Support)
Location: Willesden, London
Contract: Full-time, term-time only


About the Role

  • Work on a 1:1 basis with a Reception child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

  • Provide personalised support to help the child access learning and develop communication and social skills.

  • Support the child in class, during play, and in small group or individual sessions.

  • Use a range of strategies and resources, such as visual supports, to aid learning and engagement.

  • Assist with personal care routines when required.

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to implement support plans.

  • Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and planning.

  • Help create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
