We’re recruiting for a passionate Teaching Assistant for a busy special educational needs (SEND) school in Cannock. This is a full-time role due to begin ASAP and will continue for the full academic year. You must be able to work Monday – Friday, 8:30-15:30.

This school provides education for students from the age of 4-19 with Autism (ASC). You must have experience of working with individuals with SEND and have personal or professional understanding of Autism.

You will be joining a dedicated team who work together to ensure successful outcomes for students who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

As a teaching assistant, you will be working with the students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional support to ensure they get their very best out of their education.

The role:

  • Experience supporting individuals with SEND
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Well-motivated, enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
  • Preparing learning resources and setting up the classroom
  • You will be working with both primary and secondary ages so you must be adaptable
  • Confident with managing challenging behaviours
