Full-Time Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Autism) – Northfield 
Location: Northfield, Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday/term time only)

Are you a nurturing and committed Teaching Assistant looking for a fulfilling new role? Zest Education – a trusted, Midlands-based supply agency – is excited to be working with a busy and thriving primary school in Northfield, who are currently seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 4 with autism on a 1:1 basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant school community that is passionate about inclusion and high-quality learning for all pupils. The role is varied and will require a calm, patient, and proactive approach to help the child engage fully with their learning and social development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Year 4 with autism

  • Supporting the child both inside and outside the classroom

  • Assisting with day-to-day classroom activities and preparation of learning resources

  • Offering general classroom support when required

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team

We are looking for someone who:

✅ Holds a Level 3 NVQ qualification (or above) in a relevant childcare or education subject
✅ Has experience or a strong interest in supporting children with additional needs
✅ Is resilient, enthusiastic, and shows genuine care for children’s wellbeing
✅ Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school setting
✅ Brings positivity, reliability, and a good sense of humour to the role

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
