A popular special educational needs school in Stoke-on-Trent are recruiting for a full-time Classroom Support Assistant on a long-term basis starting ASAP. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.
This school caters for children from the age of seven to eighteen with Autism (ASC). The school is an outstanding SEND school which has a dedicated team of staff and teachers. All pupils are taught in small classes with a maximum of nine students in each. Many of the students within this school have difficulty with communicating and use PECS and Makaton so knowledge of this is not essential but would be advantageous.
The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do.
The successful candidate must maintain strong behaviour management, providing continuity to the class and students. You will be required to prepare learning resources and ensure the classroom is left in an appropriate manner. The ability to build strong and effective working relationships is essential for this role.
