Full-Time Teaching Assistant 

Location: Telford region (commutable to a specialist independent school near Shifnal, Shropshire)

About the Role

Join a warm, small-group educational setting dedicated to supporting young people aged 5–19 with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) and additional learning needs.

You’ll play a vital role in creating an environment where students feel understood, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in delivering tailored educational support and individualised learning plans.
• Foster strong, nurturing relationships with students, helping them navigate both academic and emotional challenges.
• Contribute to a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment that supports healing, resilience, and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to embed inclusive practices and uphold school values (e.g., respect, resilience, honesty, cooperation, fairness).
• Support enrichment programmes, communication skills development, and opportunities such as the school’s therapeutic language unit offering Speech & Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
