Full‑Time Class Teacher – SEND (ASD / SEMH)

One of Staffordshire’s leading specialist schools, situated in a tranquil, spacious setting just south of Burntwood. We cater to pupils aged 7 to 13 years with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom also have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Role Overview

You will lead a class within a specialist SEMH/ASD setting, fostering students’ academic progress and emotional development by:

• Delivering a differentiated, engaging National Curriculum–based education in a secure and therapeutic environment.
• Establishing positive behaviour standards and routines, consistently promoting respect, self-regulation, and cooperation.
• Monitoring pupil progress closely, setting individualised targets, and working closely with families and external professionals to overcome barriers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or strong interest in SEND, particularly SEMH and/or ASD settings.
• Skilled at differentiated lesson planning, managing a therapeutic learning environment, and delivering behaviour support effectively.
• Committed to fostering an inclusive culture, and adept at building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
• Strong dedication to safeguarding, pupil well‑being, and collaborative team practice.
