Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – ASD & Behavioural Needs) – Moseley
Location: Moseley, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 1:30pm
Start date: Immediate
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Zest Education is currently recruiting for a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural challenges on a 1:1 basis in a Year 3 class at a welcoming primary school in the Moseley area.
About the Role:
This is a part-time, long-term role running Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 1:30pm. You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to provide consistent, focused support for a pupil who benefits from a structured routine and a calm, patient adult presence.
The child requires assistance in managing emotions and staying engaged with learning. Your ability to build trust and maintain firm, clear boundaries will be crucial in helping them succeed in the school environment.
Key Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a relevant childcare qualification
Experience supporting children with ASD and/or behavioural needs is highly desirable
A calm, patient, and consistent approach
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Commitment to the full duration of the role

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
