Teaching Assistant – Nuneaton

Zest Education are proud to be working with a special educational needs school located in Nuneaton. The school is in need of a full-time Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. You will be required to work 8:30am to 15:30pm, Monday to Friday. This school caters for students aged six to seventeen with severe and profound complex learning difficulties. Due to the needs of the children, the ideal candidate will have experience of working with individuals with special educational needs.

The school itself is a popular SEND school which encourages all children to develop into independent, respectful, and confident individuals. The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do.

The successful candidate must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills and working across a range of age group.

The role:

  • You must have excellent communication skills – basic knowledge of Makaton or PECS would be advantageous
  • Must have previous experience of working within a special educational needs environment
  • You will be working in small class sizes, with a maximum of nine students in each class

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
