Job Description

Zest Education are collaborating with a well-regarded school in the Stoke on Trent area, which has received a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted. They are currently seeking a full-time Psychology teacher starting in September 2024. Initially, this role will be for one term, but there is a possibility of extension based on the school’s discretion.

This particular school caters to a diverse range of students, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL) barriers. They foster a supportive ethos throughout the institution and prioritize the training and development of their staff. The school actively seeks individuals who can contribute as strong team players.

To be considered for this position, the successful applicant must have:

– A PGCE or an equivalent UK teaching qualification that grants Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).

– A deep passion for Psychology and a strong command of the subject in both KS4 and KS5 (though familiarity with Sociology would be beneficial, it is not compulsory).

– A team-oriented mindset and a desire to be part of a cohesive and supportive team environment.

– The ability to plan, assess, and deliver high-quality Psychology lessons (note that planning and assessment duties may vary depending on the length of the placement).

– Excellent classroom management skills, including the effective handling of student behaviour.

– Confidence in utilizing ICT (Information and Communications Technology) in their professional role.
