Part-Time Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Uttoxeter)

Job Description

Zest Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded and forward-thinking primary school in Uttoxeter, who are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from Monday 3rd November 2025.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work under the direct instruction of teaching staff, primarily within the classroom setting. The role involves supporting children’s learning, fostering positive behaviour, and helping to create a stimulating environment where all pupils can achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the class teacher in delivering learning activities

  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of children to support their academic and emotional development

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Foster positive attitudes to learning and build good relationships with pupils

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to use initiative and work both independently and as part of a team

  • A positive, nurturing attitude toward working with children

  • Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable

  • Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
