Zest Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded and forward-thinking primary school in Uttoxeter, who are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from Monday 3rd November 2025.
This friendly and inclusive school is at the heart of the local community, providing a nurturing environment where children are supported to thrive both academically and emotionally. With a strong emphasis on creative and engaging teaching, the school is committed to developing curious, confident learners. The staff team is known for being caring, supportive, and passionate about delivering a high-quality education.
The successful candidate will work under the direct instruction of teaching staff, primarily within the classroom setting. The role involves supporting children’s learning, fostering positive behaviour, and helping to create a stimulating environment where all pupils can achieve their potential.
Provide support to the class teacher in delivering learning activities
Work 1:1 or with small groups of children to support their academic and emotional development
Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Foster positive attitudes to learning and build good relationships with pupils
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to use initiative and work both independently and as part of a team
A positive, nurturing attitude toward working with children
Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable
Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential
A curriculum that motivates and engages learners, while allowing staff the freedom to be imaginative and creative
A genuine commitment to ongoing professional development
Happy, enthusiastic, and well-behaved children who enjoy coming to school
A warm, caring, and supportive staff team

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
