Zest Education working in partnership with a welcoming and community-focused primary school located just outside Derby. The school is currently looking to appoint a committed and proactive Teaching Assistant to support across Key Stage 2, with a particular focus in Year 3 and Year 5.
This small, nurturing school is set in a beautiful rural location and is known for its close-knit, supportive atmosphere. It fosters a strong sense of community where staff, pupils, and families work together to create a positive and engaging learning environment. The school places a strong emphasis on values such as kindness, respect, and resilience, which are reflected in its daily practice.
Children are happy, curious, and well-behaved, and staff are dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential. The leadership team is approachable, supportive, and committed to continuous professional development.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to work primarily within Year 3 and Year 5, supporting children with varying needs and helping to deliver engaging lessons under the guidance of the class teachers.
Provide targeted support to pupils in Year 3 and Year 5, both 1:1 and in small groups
Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Foster strong relationships with pupils and encourage a love of learning
Monitor and support pupil progress, feeding back to teaching staff
Have previous experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within KS2
Be confident working with children of different abilities
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be flexible, reliable, and able to use initiative
Hold a relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable, but not essential)

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
