Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Resource Base (Kings Heath)
Location: Kings Heath, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:25am – 3:45pm | Friday, 8:25am – 1:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications


Zest Education are proud to be the leading education recruitment agency across the Midlands, and we are currently looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Kings Heath area.

This is a full-time role working within a resource base, supporting a small group of up to 12 children with additional needs, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils within the resource base setting

  • Assist in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their development and emotional wellbeing

  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment

  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural support strategies

What We’re Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or above) in a relevant childcare or education qualification is essential

  • Proven experience working with children with additional needs in an educational setting

  • A compassionate, patient and engaging approach

  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and how to adapt it for diverse learning needs

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
