Y5 teacher

Job Description

Year 5 Teaching Role – Full Time – South Birmingham

Zest Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in the Frankley area of Birmingham. This is a full-time teaching role within a Year 5 class, starting as soon as possible and continuing on a long-term basis.

We are looking for a passionate and adaptable teacher who is confident delivering engaging and effective learning experiences for upper Key Stage 2 pupils. The position primarily involves teaching a Year 5 class; however, for the right candidate, there is flexibility to work outside the classroom—supporting KS2 pupils through targeted intervention and breakout sessions rather than full-class teaching. This adaptability ensures we find the right fit for both the teacher and the school.

You will be working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to the school’s shared commitment to raising standards and providing the best possible outcomes for pupils. Support and collaboration are at the heart of this school’s ethos, and you’ll be joining a team that values creativity, teamwork, and a proactive approach to learning.

The school itself is a vibrant, inclusive, and well-resourced setting, dedicated to developing the whole child. It has modern facilities, a strong focus on wellbeing, and a values-driven approach to education—emphasising respect, resilience, and high aspirations. Staff are supported through strong leadership and ongoing professional development opportunities, and pupils benefit from a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Key Information:

  • Role: Full-time teaching (Y5), with flexibility to work with Y6 intervention

  • Start date: ASAP

  • Location: Frankley

  • Type: Long-term

  • Working closely with SLT
