Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a warm and welcoming primary school located in the heart of Tamworth. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the school on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week.

Job Title: HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – Part-Time
Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire
Working Days: 3 days per week
Start Date: ASAP

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across various year groups in the absence of the class teacher

  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, particularly in literacy and numeracy

  • Assist with planning and preparing learning activities under teacher direction

  • Contribute to the assessment and progress tracking of pupils

  • Support the wider school team in promoting positive behaviour and safeguarding

Candidate Requirements:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification is essential

  • Previous experience working within a primary school setting

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A positive and flexible attitude to adapt to the needs of the school

  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
