Zest Education is currently working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Tamworth. We are looking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children across various age groups with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This position is due to start in October 2025.
This welcoming and forward-thinking primary academy is well regarded in the local community for its inclusive ethos and strong pastoral support. The school places a high value on nurturing the emotional and academic development of every child, with a particular focus on individualised learning for those with additional needs.
Staff work collaboratively to create a positive and engaging learning environment, where children are encouraged to be curious, confident, and kind. The leadership team is committed to professional development and offers excellent support for all staff members.
Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional and behavioural needs
Working across different year groups depending on pupil needs
Providing 1:1 or small group support to help children access the curriculum
Assisting teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other tailored strategies
Helping to manage behaviour in a calm and positive manner
Supporting pupils with personal care or mobility needs, where required

Working Hours: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting
A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
A flexible approach to working across different classes and age groups
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential)

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
