Resource Based Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education are working with a Primary Academy who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work within the Specialist Resource Provision.

This Primary Academy has an excellent reputation and provides a lively and creative environment in which to work.

They retained ‘Good’ in their most recent Ofsted inspection and are a part of a Multi Academy Trust which seeks to make a positive difference in the local community.

Contract: Fixed term until 17th July 2026 (the post is linked to EHCP funding, so is likely to continue after this time)

Working Hours: Term Time only (38 pupil weeks). Additional time may be required on INSET days for training which will receive an additional payment

Monday to Friday, 25 hrs per week, 9:00 am – 3.30 pm

Start Date: September 2025

The provision accommodates a range of children, with (or awaiting) an EHCP, supporting varying needs including, ASC, SEMH and communication & interaction needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide support within one of the three rooms within the provision
  • Hold an NVQ L2/L3 Qualification or equivalent
  • Have a good level of English and Maths skills
  • Have experience of supporting children with ASC, SEMH or communication & interaction needs would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided

Whilst work will be guided by the teacher, The provision rooms are in the main TA led, therefore the successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative when required.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
