Job Description

Job Title: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Reception) – Supporting a Child with ASD
Contract: Fixed-term / Term-time only
Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a child in Reception with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support during lessons and school routines

  • Use autism-friendly strategies (visual aids, structured routines, social stories)

  • Support the child’s communication, social skills, and independence

  • Adapt resources to meet individual needs

  • Record progress and contribute to planning meetings

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals


About You

  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Experience (or interest) in working with children with SEND

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexible and proactive in adapting support strategies
