Level 3 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – ADHD & SEMH)
Location: Solihull
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full Time, 8:20am – 3:40pm (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Zest Education, the Midlands’ leading education recruitment agency, is working closely with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Solihull, currently seeking a committed Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team in a 1:1 role supporting a child with ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

This is a highly rewarding, full-time position supporting a child who requires consistent structure, emotional support, and tailored strategies to succeed within the classroom environment. The role involves working 1:1 with the pupil throughout the school day, helping them to stay focused, manage their emotions, and engage positively in their learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 support throughout the day to a child with ADHD and SEMH needs

  • Helping the pupil manage routines, transitions, and emotional regulation

  • Delivering focused intervention sessions outside of the classroom where needed

  • Supporting the pupil to access learning in a calm, structured and consistent manner

  • Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals

  • Using your own initiative and behaviour management strategies effectively

The Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for a resilient, confident and compassionate Teaching Assistant who:

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in a relevant childcare or support discipline

  • Has prior experience working with ADHD and/or SEMH needs in an educational setting

  • Understands the importance of positive relationships, patience, and consistency

  • Can deliver calm, firm and supportive guidance throughout the day

  • Is confident working independently with minimal supervision

  • Is committed to supporting the child’s emotional well-being as well as academic progress
