Candidate Requirements
• Experience supporting children with SEND in an educational or care setting (essential).
• A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent (desirable).
• A calm, empathetic and resilient approach to working with children with additional needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEND needs
• Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials where necessary
• Support children’s social and emotional development, promoting independence and confidence
• Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure tailored support for each child
• Encourage positive behaviour and model a caring, supportive attitude at all times

Zest Education are an APSCo audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
