Teaching Assistant (SEND)

Job Description

Zest Education is delighted to be working with a warm and welcoming school in Stratford-upon-Avon, seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from November on a long-term basis (3 days per week). You’ll be part of a nurturing environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential — and where your contribution truly matters.

Your Role and Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with a range of SEND needs
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development, building trust and confidence
• Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with the teaching team
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child

Qualifications and Requirements
• Experience supporting children with SEND in an educational setting (essential)
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A valid DBS check on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
