Are you a qualified Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We’re recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Redditch for a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with a Reception-aged child who is non-verbal and requires low engagement, consistent support throughout the school day.

This is a full-time role starting in January 2026, continuing until the end of the academic year, with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.


🔍 Your Role

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support to a Reception pupil with communication and engagement needs
  • Create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
  • Use non-verbal communication tools, visual aids, and sensory strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Support the child’s emotional regulation, routine, and social development

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Childcare, Education, or a related field
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly in EYFS
  • A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach to learning support
  • Excellent communication and observation skills
  • Access to your own transport is essential due to the school’s location
