Special Needs Support Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Support Assistant to join one of our partner schools located in Warwick. Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, both in the classroom and during small-group or individual activities.
  • Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning plans.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development in line with school policies.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in lessons.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent support for each child.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience working with children who have SEN.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one through Zest Education).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
