Job Description

Job Title: Full-Time Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Northfield, Birmingham

Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only (Until July 2026, with potential to become permanent)
Hours: 8:25 am – 3:40 pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

This is a full-time position starting in January 2026 and continuing until July 2026, with the exciting possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.

About You

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and adaptable individual who holds an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in childcare or supporting teaching and learning. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised care and support, including assistance with personal care tasks (nappy changing and toilet training).
  • Work closely with children who have additional needs.
  • Ensuring all children receive the academic and emotional support they require.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
  • Maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support pupils in small groups and one-to-one settings to help them thrive.
