Support worker – SEND School

Job Description

Are you a caring individual who is passionate about helping assisting children with additional needs? Zest Education is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join there team. You will be working in an OUTSTANDING Special School in Nuneaton – helping children with severe learning difficulties complete their day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist teachers and the SENCO in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
  • Promote inclusion and help pupils engage fully with the curriculum
  • Support pupils’ social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and resilience
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school or educational setting is desirable
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability when supporting children with diverse needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils

 

The school assists children with daily living activities, the contract is until the end of the academic year. The school is located in the heart of Coventry and caters for all types of Special Educational Needs. You will be a valued member of the team as the schools values outline; togetherness and growth!

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
