Humanities Teacher – Lichfield

Job Description

Zest Education are working closely with a school in the Lichfield area. The school is looking to recruit a full time Humanities teacher to start February 2024 for at least one full term. This role is likely to be extended but the decision will be based on performance during the first half term.

Ideally the school would like the chosen candidate to be able to teach across at least two humanities subjects, Geography and History. Knowledge of the RE curriculum isn’t necessary but would be beneficial as well.

The school is high performing with many students taking up humanities subjects as at least one of their GCSE and A level options. As with any long term role, the chosen candidate will be joining the wider humanities department who work collaboratively together to plan lessons and other subject related activities such a trips and field studies.

The successful candidate will:
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them a QTS or QTLS
  • A passion for Humanities with excellent knowledge across all key stages
  • The strong desire to work as part of a wider teaching team
  • The ability and knowledge to plan, mark and deliver lessons of a high quality (planning and marking only apply on short- and long-term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Computer literate with strong ICT skills and time management.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
