Zest is working with a special educational needs school in Telford to recruit for a Classroom Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis. The school would love the ideal Classroom Support Assistant to start in January 2023 and the role will continue for the duration of the academic year.
The school caters for children from the age of five to twelve with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners, the successful candidate must be confident with their behaviour management and have experience supporting individuals with SEND.
The school’s aim is to reduce the numbers of pupils who are permanently excluded from school by offering mainstream schools an alternative provision as an assessment and intervention. Offering a range of interventions so pupils can be supported, either within their mainstream school or at one of the school’s provisions.
You will need to build and maintain successful relationships with the children, whilst treating them with respect and consideration. The role will involve working with the children individually and in small groups, so it is important that you have a flexible approach.
