A SEND school located in Birmingham is currently looking for experienced teaching assistants to join their team. This school caters for 81 students whom have a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Tourette’s. Students are taught in classes of 7 supported by a teacher and teaching assistants who work extremely hard to provide the best education to their students and keep up to date with their skills in order to meet the needs of their students. This school takes a personalised approach with its curriculum and ensures their post 16 students have access to work experience and preparing for adulthood studies.
This is a full-time teaching assistant role which will require you to work Monday to Friday 8:30AM – 15:30PM supporting alongside the teacher and other teaching assistants. You will be required to work on a one-to-one basis and within small groups of students. Due to the age range of these students, you must be flexible across all age groups.
The role:
– We are looking for someone with previous special educational needs experience
– You will need to be confident with working with student with PMLD.
– Due to this school catering for a variety of ages, you will need to be adaptable
