Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Solihull
Contract: April 2026 – End of Summer Term (July 2026) with potential extension
Hours: 08:30-15:30 Monday – Friday

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join the school from April 2026 for the duration of the Summer Term, with the possibility of extension.

In this role, you will:

  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, ensuring steady progress.
  • Encourage positive behaviour while maintaining a well‑organised classroom environment.
  • Guide children in their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Contribute fully to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and community events.

The Candidate

We are looking for someone who demonstrates enthusiasm, commitment, and a genuine passion for education. Ideally, you will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).
  • Bring experience working with children, particularly within a primary school setting.
  • Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Stay organised and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Adapt creatively to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Approach challenges with positivity and resilience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
