Specialist support

A welcoming and inclusive school in Leamington Spa is seeking a committed Specialist Support Assistant to work full‑time with children who have a range of SEND needs. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive and confident supporting pupils with communication difficulties, learning delays, ASD, SEMH or sensory needs. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to provide tailored support and help pupils access learning in a calm, structured and nurturing environment.

• Strong experience working with SEND children
• Previous classroom or school‑based support experience
• Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• A calm, patient and encouraging approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Key responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small‑group SEND support
• Assisting with classroom learning and daily routines
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and stay engaged
• Supporting communication, social skills and independence
• Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENDCo
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive environment
