Teaching Assistant – SEND Hub

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Swadlincote, working within their dedicated SEND Hub. This is a part‑time role (3 days per week) starting after Easter, supporting children across Key Stage 1 who require additional help accessing learning.

Role Overview

We are looking for a patient, proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs within the school’s SEND Hub. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help children engage with learning, develop confidence and make progress at their own pace.

  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Requirements:
    • Experience supporting children with SEND (desirable)
    • Confidence working with KS1 pupils
    • A nurturing, adaptable and positive approach
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Supporting children within the SEND Hub and KS1 classrooms
  • Helping pupils with communication, engagement and emotional regulation
  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Assisting with personalised learning activities
  • Creating a calm, inclusive and supportive environment
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCO and wider staff team
