1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is pleased to be working with a caring and inclusive primary school in the Solihull area, who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a child with additional learning needs.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to ensure the pupil receives consistent, high‑quality support that enables them to thrive both academically and emotionally.

What the role involves

  • Providing 1:1 support to a child with additional needs throughout the school day
  • Helping to implement personalised learning plans and targeted interventions
  • Supporting the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team
  • Creating a positive, encouraging environment that promotes confidence and independence

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting children in a primary school classroom (Must have)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
  • Understanding of SEND

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
