We are exclusively working closely with a school located in Birmingham and caters for students from nursery aged right through to post 16 ages who have visual impairments, and some students have additional needs such as social and emotional needs and moderate learning difficulties. All students are well equipped with the skills and attributes to become confident individuals within society and overcome any barriers they may face. The curriculum offered here is in place to adhere to all needs of the students and takes a personalised approach to promote enjoyment within education.
This is a full-time classroom support assistant role supporting alongside the teacher and other classroom support assistants within the school. You will be supporting students on a one-to-one basis and within small groups of students. Due to the age range of the students, you must be flexible across all ages.
The role:
– We are looking for someone with previous special educational needs experience
– You will need to be confident with working with student with visual impairments and additional needs.
– Due to this school catering for a variety of ages, you will need to be adaptable

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
