Lunchtime Supervisor

Job Description

A friendly, community‑focused primary school in Redditch is looking for a reliable, caring, and proactive Lunchtime Supervisor to support pupils during the busy midday period. This role suits someone who enjoys working with children, promotes positive play, and helps maintain a calm, safe lunchtime environment.

🧒 Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising pupils in the dining hall, playground, and indoor areas
  • Encouraging positive play, good manners, and respectful behaviour
  • Supporting younger pupils with meals and lunchtime routines
  • Managing minor behaviour issues calmly and consistently
  • Ensuring pupil safety and wellbeing at all times
  • Helping set up and clear away dining hall equipment
  • Working collaboratively as part of a supportive midday team

👩‍💼 What the School Needs

  • A friendly, patient, and approachable manner
  • Confidence supervising groups of children
  • Good communication and behaviour‑management skills
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Willingness to undertake training (safeguarding, first aid, etc.)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
