Are you a Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant? Do you want more flexible hours and the chance to choose when you want to work? We have the role for you! A secondary SEND college in the Stoke on Trent area are looking for a Level 2 qualified TA to start as soon as possible for the rest of the academic year.
This college caters for students from the age of 16 to 25 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), Autism (ASC), down syndrome, communication difficulties and other health related, mental, or physical difficulties. The ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or have experience in a similar environment.
The college itself is committed to preparing the students for adulthood. Developing independence skills is central to the ethos of the college and, as such, is embedded into all learners’ programmes.
The successful teaching assistant needs to be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs. Strong behaviour management is crucial and providing continuity to the class and students. You will be required to work alongside the class teacher, supporting the students 1:1 and in small groups with all areas of the curriculum.
