Zest Education is currently recruiting for a part-time Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Tamworth. This morning-only role is due to start in September and will continue on an ongoing basis for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a flexible role supporting pupils across Key Stage 2.

About the Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching and learning during the morning sessions, working closely with class teachers to help pupils engage with lessons and achieve their potential. You may work with individual pupils, small groups, or provide general classroom support as required.

The school is looking for a positive and proactive individual who can build strong relationships with pupils and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classes.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
  • Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons.
  • Assist with literacy and numeracy activities.
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and classroom routines.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2.
  • Be patient, enthusiastic, and approachable.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be confident supporting pupils with a range of learning needs.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
