Zest Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, talented, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tamworth. Working as part of a supportive school team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality support to pupils and teachers across the school. This varied position will involve working with children of different ages, including pupils with additional needs, making every day both rewarding and engaging.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning both inside and outside the classroom. You will help pupils engage with lessons, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals while contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.

In addition to classroom support, the role will include lunchtime supervision and assisting with the set-up and put-away of resources and equipment, helping to ensure the smooth running of the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across the primary school.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with a range of learning and educational needs.
  • Assist teachers with classroom preparation and organisation.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Supervise pupils during lunchtime and support positive play experiences.
  • Assist with the set-up and put-away of classroom resources and equipment.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • Be confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be reliable, organised, and willing to contribute to all aspects of school life.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
