Full-time Teaching Assistant

Zest Education are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a special educational needs school located in Telford. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30. We have opportunities available for immediate starts.

The school itself caters for children aged five to sixteen who have Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the children, we would ideally like to hear from people with previous experience within a SEND or care setting.

This school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals. The successful teaching assistant needs to be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs. Strong behaviour management is crucial and providing continuity to the class and students. You will be required to work alongside the class teacher, supporting the students 1:1 and in small groups with all areas of the curriculum.

The role:

• The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the needs of working in an alternative provision and will be able to forge positive and mutually respectful relationships with colleagues and students
• You will be required to work with the students individually and in small groups
• You will be working alongside the class teacher, preparing learning resources and maintaining the classroom to a high standard

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
